Here is how the Engineering Specialist/ Sr Engineering Specialist role will impact our business:

The Engineering Specialist will provide Technical, Analytical, and Advanced Engineering Support for the department's Upstream/Midstream Civil Design and Construction Initiatives.

The Engineering Specialist/ Sr Engineering Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • General design knowledge of pad construction and associated pad facilities.
  • Ability to efficiently utilize Autodesk Civil 3D and Vehicle Tracking applications.
  • Review drawings/plan sets align with internal and external guidance and parameters.
  • General knowledge of pad and access road civil design requirements in WV, OH and PA.  
  • Ability to generate pad and access road civil design takeoff quantities, budgeting cost estimates and build time estimates.
  • Ability to develop and prepare pad and access road Request for Quote (RFQ) packages.
  • Preparation of reports on project status and design options/phases tracking.
  • Understanding of regulatory permitting processes.
  • Provide project-based engineering and civil design support to the permitting, surface use, civil construction and engineering departments.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary groups (contractors and internal personnel) to ensure the department’s financial and operational plans are achieved.
  • Be able to attend in-person access road and pad walks during all seasons and on short notice (24 hours), walks may be several miles at various inclines.
  • Identify and perform self-led tasks in process optimization to improve department performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects in an effective manner.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • BS or Equivalent
  • 5-10 years related work experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to perform routine engineering related tasks and work in digital work environment.
  • Strong engineering Project Management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D applications for grading and civil design (Corridors, Grading Groups and Vehicle Tracking).
  • Familiar with GIS.
  • Process and procedural documentation with flowcharts and technical writing.
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivated and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good digital file and process flow organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states:  Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York unless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
