Here is how the Production Control Center Technician role will impact our business:

The Production Controller is responsible for monitoring our gas and water network to ensure safe operations, efficient movement of gas and water, and optimal dispatching of water trucks and field personnel based on present and future conditions.  The incumbent will make decisions, based upon his/her level of experience, that will have an operational and economic impact on the gas and water system on a regular basis. 

The Production Control Center Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work on various shifts including on-call rotation for emergency call off
  • Operate EQT’s SCADA and other relevant systems and data sources; including extracting data trends used for analysis
  • Monitor gas pressures, flows, quality, water rates, water schedules, safety data
  • Ability to identify and respond to deviations from normal gas and water network conditions
  • Ability to work with field personnel to commission new facilities, re-route gas during maintenance/outages and ensure system operations return to normal at the conclusion of maintenance/outage
  • Effectively document and communicate current gas conditions, upcoming events and any issues that arose during the day which impacted or will impact gas flows to incoming control room personnel
  • Capability to properly document data in EQT’s Shift Log
  • Ability to understand gas and water flow and to identify various components of EQT’s field equipment
  • Ability to recognize inefficient operations and recommend corrective action
  • Comprehend Alert and Alarm management concepts and how to investigate/evaluate and respond to maintain integrity of gas and water systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate nomination and flow amounts to both internal and external parties, as well as provide notification following abnormal/significant events
  • Work with Measurement Technicians to validate Point-To-Point during routine maintenance
  • Preparation of the daily schedule for all water haulers
  • Tracking water requests and analyzing variance from the daily water schedule
  • Work directly with vendors and internal organizations to efficiently route water trucks
  • Ability to dispatch work orders to field staff or third-party haulers based on conditions
  • Communication to curtailment group and engineering of system conditions that warrant posting
  • Communication to curtailment group and engineering that an imbalance condition exists i.e.., deviation from plan
  • Establish and maintain relationship with external (LIKE PEER) counterparties to ensure flexibility of gas and water operations

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 2+ years of industry related experience which demonstrates the ability to solve problems without clear precedent
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work on various shifts including on-call rotation for emergency call off
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyze data to identify problems and develop solutions where the objective is to optimally support our gas and water network
  • Ability to act as the point of contact for all water and gas requests and work with a diverse group and balance the needs of the group to meet business objectives
  • Ability to interpret data and identify areas for process improvement
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision
  • Ability to adjust on the fly and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to use various software, including, but not limited to Maximo, data dashboards, databases, and GPS Management software
