Here is how the Water Infrastructure Pipeline Engineer role will impact our business:

The Water Infrastructure Pipeline Engineer I/II/III/IV is responsible for providing technical guidance and focus for all new water network pipeline projects and repairs while working hand in hand with EQT Engineering / Operational Team Members as well as External Business Partners. This position will align closely with our water infrastructure operations and completions teams to drive operational success through technical excellence in water pipeline engineering designs, installations, standard operating processes and procedures. This position will provide the opportunity of growth and development through mentorship provided by the experience of a diverse engineering department.  The Water Infrastructure Engineer is a cornerstone of the organization and will be an important member of the team’s strive to continue as the Operator of Choice.

 

The Water Infrastructure Pipeline Engineer I/II/III/IV responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical expertise in all phases of scoping, mechanical design and construction.
  • Pipeline Sizing & Specifications
    • Responsible for sizing lines for current and future water transfer from pad as well as to completions operations.
    • Responsible for selecting appropriate pipe based on material selection and pipe diameter / MAOP based on system hydraulics.
  • Evaluate pipeline network expansion & strategic opportunities for future connections of water networks and storage locations.
  • Work with internal and 3rd party designers to develop system hydraulics based on current and future development strategies and water takeaway requirements.
  • Develop & maintain produced & freshwater system steady-state hydraulic models. 
  • Directly engage with Water Instructure Facility Engineering team to ensure future and current temporary / permanent water transfer locations are planned and sized accordingly based on pipe sizing / specifications / MAOP limitations.
  • Engage with completions on up and coming / future water transfer requirements to ensure pipe is sized and spec’d appropriately based on transfer requirements.
  • Work with land / permitting on developing the most appropriate / strategic pipe routing to avoid potential impacts on timing and sizing requirements.
  • Maintain all GIS documentation and nomenclature associated with new and existing water pipelines and networks.
  • Develop and manage all project milestones in order to provide clear and transparent timelines for associated projects.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Petroleum / Chemical).
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Understanding of Water Infrastructure Operations, Pipeline Hydraulics, Designs and Installations.
  • Understanding of ASME, ANSI, API, ISA, NACE Specs and Standards.
  • Understanding of Thermodynamics & Fluid Dynamics.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Extreme ownership mentality.
  • Able to take complex workflows/ideas and communicate them concisely to achieve results.
  • Self-Starter and team player.
  • Able to work independently as needed.
  • Ability to travel 15-20% of the time.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours inclusive of weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in the oil and gas industry w/ familiarization of water operations.
  • Equipment design/manufacturing or oil field facility construction.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience to Include Vizio.
  • Familiarization with:

Work Location:

  • The job is hybrid, meaning it combines field work, remote work, and office work in the Pittsburgh, PA, area.
