The EHS Coordinator I/II/Senior - Emergency Response supports and enhances EQT’s enterprise-wide emergency response and readiness capabilities. This role is responsible for assisting in the development and coordination of emergency response plans, facility response plans, spill response plans, emergency management training, supporting regulatory compliance efforts, and serving as a liaison with emergency response agencies and business partners.

The position works cross-functionally across business units to ensure consistent implementation of Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) practices, and other local, state and federal regulatory requirements across upstream and midstream operations.

 

The EHS Coordinator I/II/Senior - Emergency Response  responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Increase the enterprise’s emergency response and readiness capabilities by developing annual emergency management training plans and coordinating emergency management training for all EQT emergency response teams. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Preparedness, Prevention, and Contingency plans.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EQT’s Emergency Response plans.
  • Cross functionally collaborates with other departments to meet all regulatory reporting requirements set forth by the regulatory agencies. ( annual reporting, new permit reporting, site operational change reporting)
  • Elevate the competencies of individual emergency response team members in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System, PPC plans, and Emergency Response plans by developing, coordinating, and co-facilitating emergency response tabletop exercises with the Crisis Management Team, First Responders and 3rd Party Emergency Response contractors.
  • Educate and liaise County Emergency Management Agencies and First Responders on well site hazards and emergency response expectations by coordinating and facilitating presentations and well site visits.
  • Build relationships with County Emergency Management Agency Directors by attending County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) meetings and involving representatives in emergency exercises.
  • Evaluate and qualify prospective contractors by coordinating and conducting audits on their EHS ISNetworld safety systems.
  • Help contractors address improvement opportunities identified during EHS audits by assisting with corrective action and/or mitigation plan development.
  • Drive quality discussions and communications between leadership and contractors by assisting with completion of quarterly field engagement exercises and annual drill debriefs. 

 

Required Experience and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Safety & Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in emergency management, emergency response, disaster preparedness, or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of upstream and midstream oil and natural gas operations.
  • Experience developing or maintaining Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), Preparedness, Prevention, and Contingency (PPC) plans, or spill response plans.
  • Experience coordinating or participating in emergency drills, tabletop exercises, or incident response activities.
  • Working knowledge of NIMS and Incident Command System (ICS) principles.
  • Experience coordinating with local or regional emergency management agencies and first responders.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience delivering training to diverse audiences.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently, while also working well and communicating with all levels of the team.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills for accurate record keeping.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

 

 

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience using Salesforce (or a comparable CRM/workflow system) to support regulatory tracking, incident documentation, or emergency response coordination.
  • Possession of at least one of the following certifications is preferred: IFSAC or Pro-Board Fire Instructor I, Fire Academy Local Level Instructor, current CPR/BLS Instructor certification, or another formal adult education credential.
  • Background in Fire, HazMat, Rescue, EMS, or Emergency Management.
  • Experience with 9-1-1 addressing coordination and GIS-based emergency location systems.
  • Familiarity with PHMSA, EPA, and state-level emergency preparedness regulations.

 

Work Location:

This position will primarily work remote, with 10% of the time being field-based for trainings. 


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
