The Asset Engineer III/Senior/Expert is responsible for short and long-term natural gas and water systems planning, hydraulic modeling, and infrastructure scoping to support development offtake, third-party offtake, and Midstream growth opportunities. The role evaluates system capacity across gathering, transmission, and storage assets, develops capital expansion and optimization plans, and provides technical support for asset development, asset management, and growth initiatives.

 

The Asset Engineer III/Senior/Expert responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform hydraulic modeling of assigned gas and water pipeline systems using Synergi Gas and Synergi Water.
  • Analyze drilling schedules, development scenarios, and third-party activity to evaluate system impacts and infrastructure needs.
  • Scope and conceptually design pipeline, compression, dehydration, water handling, and interconnect projects.
  • Assess and validate capacity across gathering systems, regulated transmission pipelines, and storage networks.
  • Develop and maintain long-range (5+ year) capital and asset development plans based on consolidated production forecasts.
  • Identify system optimization opportunities to improve capital efficiency, reduce operating pressures, and align infrastructure timing with production needs.
  • Prepare and communicate technical documentation outlining operating pressures, system capacities, constraints, and recommended solutions.
  • Support commercial, growth, and economic evaluations by providing hydraulic modeling, infrastructure scoping, and technical inputs in collaboration with finance and growth teams.
  • Ensure adherence to internal planning standards, engineering best practices, and business processes.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, civil, mechanical, petroleum preferred).
  • 5+ years of related industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with gas gathering and transmission system hydraulics.
  • Proficiency with Synergi Gas and/or Synergi Water or similar hydraulic modeling software.
  • Experience scoping pipeline, compression, dehydration, and water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting long-term planning, capital optimization, and system debottlenecking initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical results into business insights.
  • Experience with liquids or process modeling using ProMax or Aspen HYSYS software (preferred).
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills in both oral and written form, including technical writing.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Proficiency in PowerBI or Spotfire is preferred.
  • R/SQL/Python experience is highly preferred.

 

 

Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states:  California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.
