Here is how the LNG Trader I/II role will impact our business:

You will support and execute cargo trading activity within the LNG Trading team, developing the market knowledge and trading track record required to progress toward independent cargo trade execution. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced traders to turn market fundamentals and optimization analysis into trade strategies that help EQT connect its natural gas to global markets. Your work will directly support the accuracy, discipline, and profitability of the team's trading book.

 

The LNG Trader I/II responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execute/assist individual cargo trades.
  • Mark forward basis price curves in the regional market.
  • Perform deal entry and daily P&L reconciliation.
  • Translate fundamental market analysis into trade strategies.
  • Run optimization simulations in Calypso.
  • Translate optimization modeling analysis into trade strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and counterparties; assist in execution of Master Sale and Purchase Agreements (MSPAs).

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in LNG, natural gas, or a related industry.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, with knowledge of economic modeling in the natural gas or LNG industry.
  • Skilled at performing company research and identifying target customers; shows initiative in making new contacts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of global gas market infrastructure and supply and demand composition.
  • Attention to detail, document-control discipline, and market awareness.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for industry conferences, and team gatherings.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination.
  • Master’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or related field. 

 

Work Location

  • This job will be based within our Houston, TX office 5 days per week.
