Here is how the Community Relations Intern, Impact Works role will impact our business:

As an EQT Community Impact Intern participating in our Impact Works program, you'll spend your summer working alongside nonprofit organizations across EQT's footprint, helping advance meaningful projects that strengthen our communities. Unlike a traditional internship, Impact Works offers the opportunity to rotate among multiple nonprofit partners, gaining hands-on experience with a variety of missions, projects, and community needs. Throughout the summer, you'll support short-term assignments ranging from communications and marketing to event planning, volunteer coordination, grant research, and organizational support. Each assignment offers a new opportunity to develop professional skills, build relationships, and experience firsthand the important role nonprofits play in our communities. Launched in 2026, Impact Works supported 22 nonprofit organizations during its inaugural summer. We're looking for curious, creative, and adaptable students who are eager to build on that success while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit management, corporate philanthropy, and community engagement.

The Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work directly with nonprofit partners on short-term projects that support their missions and organizational needs.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of community events, volunteer initiatives, fundraising activities, and outreach programs.
  • Develop communications and marketing materials, including social media content, newsletters, digital graphics, and event promotions.
  • Support nonprofit operations through research, data organization, grant prospecting, and administrative projects.
  • Quickly learn each organization's goals and priorities, adapting to new environments and delivering quality work within short timelines.
  • Capture stories, photos, and content highlighting the impact of EQT's nonprofit partners.
  • Assist EQT's Stakeholder Affairs team with employee volunteer activities, community engagement initiatives, and special projects.
  • Represent EQT professionally at nonprofit partner locations and community events.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Must have completed at least sophomore year at an accredited four-year college or university prior to the internship.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Passion for community service, volunteerism, and making a positive impact.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable taking initiative, asking questions, and working independently.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; experience with Canva, social media, photography, or video editing is a plus.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% or more of the time, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Position may be home-based within 30 miles of an EQT office in Pittsburgh, Southpointe, Waynesburg, PA, or Bridgeport, WV.
