Position Summary:
The Sales Development Manager (SDM) is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential clients within hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare organizations. This role focuses on prospecting, lead generation, and early-stage sales outreach to build a strong sales pipeline. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results-driven professional with a strong ability to connect with healthcare decision-makers, generate interest, and create opportunities for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Research and identify new business opportunities within the healthcare sector.
- Conduct outbound outreach via cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn to generate and qualify leads.
- Engage with key decision-makers, including hospital administrators, executives, and clinicians.
- Follow up on inbound leads to assess fit and qualify interest.
- Maintain a high level of activity and engagement to drive consistent pipeline growth.
Lead Qualification & Sales Handoff
- Conduct initial discovery calls to understand potential clients’ challenges and needs.
- Use a consultative approach to educate prospects on company solutions.
- Qualify leads based on business potential, timing, and budget fit.
- Ensure a seamless handoff to sales representatives for further engagement and deal closure.
Collaboration & Process Optimization
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align messaging and improve targeting.
- Provide feedback on lead quality and market insights to refine outreach strategies.
- Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to track activities, document interactions, and analyze outreach effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field, preferably in healthcare or SaaS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage high-level decision-makers.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume outreach and generate interest in complex solutions.
- Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement tools.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

In addition to an hourly or base salary, this position could be eligible for 401k, continuing education, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors, including type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
