Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Licensing Specialist to support our licensing operations during a high-volume period. This temporary role (60–90 days) is fully remote and focuses on managing professional license renewals, DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances) registrations for our providers. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare licensing and credentialing, with a strong understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manages credentialing process for all Equum contracted providers, in accordance with company standards, Federal and State laws.
- Maintains an up-to-date and accurate electronic physician file in the company’s credentialing database software (Modio Health).
- Monitor and track upcoming expirations of state medical licenses, DEA registrations, and CDS permits.
- Initiate and complete renewal applications accurately and in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted clinical privileges.
- Communicate with providers to gather required documentation and follow up on outstanding items.
- Liaise with state medical boards, DEA, and CDS regulatory bodies to resolve issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records in credentialing systems and databases.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide weekly status updates to leadership and escalate potential issues proactively.
- Assist with audits or reports related to licensing status as needed.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Modio Health credentialing software or similar software and ability to become lead user quickly.
- Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports, particularly using Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and other basic Excel reporting functions.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Familiarity with DEA and CDS application/renewal processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and licensing/credentialing software platforms.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Education and/or Experience:
- 2+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Knowledge of CAQH, FCVS, and other credentialing systems.
