Working Hours: 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM CST (Central Standard Time)

What you’ll be doing  

The Clinical Assessment Specialist I is responsible for determining the clinical appropriateness, level of care, and line of service for treatment by assessing a patient’s presentation and clinical information. This role ensures individuals have a validating, educational, and compassionate experience while receiving an accurate clinical recommendation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Level of Care Assessment/Clinical Justification & Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments by phone for individuals with various mental health disorders, determining the appropriate level of care and line of service. Provide clear, documented clinical justification for the determined level of care and establish a preliminary diagnosis based on patient interaction.
  • Program Information Presentation/Patient Education: Present the ERC Pathlight program and its services in a comprehensive and welcoming manner, ensuring prospective patients understand their treatment options. Educate patients and their families about their level of care recommendation and the potential benefits of the proposed treatment.
  • Care Coordination/Referral and Resource: Facilitate the admissions process by gathering necessary records and coordinating communication among a multidisciplinary team, within and outside of the organization. Make referrals and provide appropriate resources to patients as needed.
  • Information Documentation: Collect and document complete patient information, including communications, contact details, and insurance information, in an organized and thorough manner.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.

Education Requirement:

  • Graduate Degree in Mental health or related field is required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Candidates must have a Licensed Master's Level Clinician (LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LCSW, LMSW Under Supervision, LCPC, LISW) Associate licensures are accepted. Licensure supervision is not provided for this role. 
  • LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LCPC (preferred)
  • CEDS (preferred)
  • CADC (preferred)

Must Haves:

  • Basic knowledge in computerized office applications.
  • Ability to establish priorities and organize workload; works in a team environment to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to take initiative without established guidelines and procedures using independent judgment. High degree of attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality; exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential information; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of ERC teammates. 
  • 2+ years of behavioral health experience as an Assessment Specialist, Therapist or similar role. Assessment experience highly preferred. Professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Location & Schedule:

This position is posted as remote; however, per company policy, candidates residing within a 35‑mile radius of ZIP code 80230 will be required to follow a hybrid schedule, even if they applied to the remote posting.
  • Remote: Mondays and Fridays
  • On-site in our Denver Office: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

 

The compensation range for this position is based upon candidate experience and market expectations. 

Colorado pay range

$65,000 - $70,000 USD

This range is dependent upon candidate's state of residence, experience and market expectations.

Virtual Pay Range

$65,000 - $70,000 USD
