EAM boasts highly experienced anesthesia providers that service mainly hospitals, but also outpatient surgery center locations. We are transitioning to internalizing clinical practice support functions to support this further growth.

General Description:

The Charge Capture II position reports to the Charge Capture Manager and is responsible for capturing, through a wide range of methods, certain charge documents (anesthesia records, preop assessments, billing sheets, operative notes, insurance demographics, and patient demographics) to verify, reconcile, and securely upload those documents to the company’s outsourced Revenue Cycle Management organizations for the billing of all anesthesia professional fees.

Responsibilities:

  • Update the daily tracker for each facility to ensure that no charge records are missing from any facility
  • Verify, reconcile, and securely upload those documents to the company’s outsourced Revenue Cycle Management organizations for the billing of all anesthesia professional fees
  • Understand obligations as it relates to the Company’s Healthcare Compliance Program including participating in training efforts, complying with policies and procedures, and alerting a supervisor to any potential compliance violations
  • Efficiently maintain all paper records and digital records as applicable
  • Coordinate the receipt of RAIs (Requests for Additional Information) back from facility personnel and providers to ensure that each charge case is billed appropriately and compliantly
  • Reviews patient account records and third party payer issues
  • Participates in ongoing quality monitoring and training, policy review and process improvement activities

Physical Requirements and Skills:

  • Certified Professional Coding (CPC) or Certified Professional Account Technician (CPAT) is preferred
  • Physician or facility coding, billing, or charge entry experience preferred
  • Moderate MS Office suite skills

Work Experience and Education:

  • 1-3 years experience in a high-volume medical office environment
  • Required: High School diploma; Healthcare Certification or Advanced Degree preferred
  • Anesthesia Billing / Coding Experience Preferred
