The Finance team strategically plans for Essor's future by managing all levels of financial decisions and ensuring our platform can create value in a sustainable way. 

About the role 

As a Cost Accountant you would support the Controller & Accounting Manager to verify the accuracy of the accounting of stock and ensure all transactions are accurate & posted in a timely manner. You will also assist with the review and analysis of existing financial processes, developing and implementing improvements and automation to increase optimisation and use of business intelligence to support the overall business objectives. Finally, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders of the organization and promote strong finance business partner relationships to aid the development of fact-based decision-making and a commercial mindset to support the overall growth plan of the organization.

What you will do:

  • Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliation preparation for various accounts/processes and journal entries.
  • Analyze product and landed costs and make recommended changes/efficiencies
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly and quarterly inventory reconciliations across brands and locations
  • Maintain standard costs within the system and monitor/update landed costs as necessary in collaboration with broader finance members as well as supply chain
  • Assist with the development and implementation of processes surrounding accounting of stock and cost of goods sold and integrate them with the management accounts process.
  • Assist in the use of API feeds and data to improve efficiency and drive process improvements.
  • Plan, study and collect data to determine landed costing activity such as purchases, freight and duties
  • Assist in the integration of acquired brands as it relates to inventory and costing

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Accounting or related field
  • At least 2 years experience within manufacturing or supply chain industries, deep understanding of cost accounting (mandatory) and overall 4-5 years experience in the Finance Department
  • Experience with SQL and analysing large data sources (preferrable)
