The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead to manage a team building innovative eCommerce experiences.

As a Technical Lead, you will drive the design, development and technical ownership of a core element of our platform. You will collaborate with Architecture, Product, and your Engineering Leads to deliver and maintain a high volume secure system that continues to support rapid growth in scale and roadmap.

We are looking for a Technical Lead with the highest level of technical and people leadership skills and a passion for building high-performing teams and driving technical excellence.

About the Team (ESP)

This role is for our ESP team. ESP is ESW’s service portal and the primary user interface for our integration platform. The portal is built with Angular using a micro-frontend architecture.

The team also supports ESW’s email services, which deliver transactional emails for key order flows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery and evolution of the ESP, the primary UI for ESW’s integration platform.
  • Support and improve transactional email services that power customer communications across the order lifecycle.
  • Drive technical direction for our Angular micro-frontend architecture, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Work with and provide day-to-day leadership and support to an engineering team responsible for developing and delivering key features within its domain.
  • Work with engineering and product leaders to drive close collaboration within global teams.
  • Drive execution to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate across functions to support planning and roadmap prioritisation.
  • Anticipate technical challenges and define a strategy through long-term planning.
  • Continuously strive to introduce improvements and innovations to the team.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and running technical teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Experience building and maintaining 24x7 production-critical systems.
  • Experience leading teams building customer-facing web applications, ideally with Angular.
  • Familiarity with micro-frontend patterns and modern frontend architecture.
  • Experience operating or supporting transactional messaging/email services in production environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge with a history of solving complex problems; adept at identifying and solving security, scaling, resilience, and consistency challenges.
  • Experience in ecommerce is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the following development stack: Angular, C#, Web API, .NET Core, Kafka, Kubernetes, microservices, Cosmos DB, and Azure.
  • Experience in Domain-Driven Design, software design patterns, and modern SDLC methodologies such as CI/CD, testing, and release approaches.
  • Proficient in Test-Driven Development within an Agile Scrum team.
  • Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and passion for tackling tough problems.
  • Outstanding communication skills, particularly the ability to clearly communicate ideas.
