About the Role
Ethos is looking for an ambitious self-starter to join our Finance & Strategy Team. As part of this team you will play a major role in executing high priority initiatives for our Direct to Consumer business, performing market research to help inform the company’s strategy & product roadmap, and defining the company’s financial plan. You will use a combination of analytical, operational, and technical skills to evaluate key business problems (scale, efficiency, and quality) while considering multiple different stakeholders.
This role will have high visibility across the executive team and will require you to solve the most complex, interesting challenges of a rapidly-scaling startup. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive our efforts to better serve new customer segments, launch new insurance products, and/or partnerships offerings
- Apply business judgment and financial insights to drive decision making related to unit economics, customer acquisition, operations, core business expansion, and new opportunities
- Improve the speed and efficiency of our growth by collaborating closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams
- Apply a data-driven analytical approach to influence decision making and support company leadership in evaluating strategic initiatives
- Develop and monitor critical financial performance metrics, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
Qualifications and Skills:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, including:
- 2+ years of investment banking, consulting, and/or private equity / growth equity
- 2+ years of operational experience at a high-growth technology company
- Best-in-class excel skills and extensive experience developing insightful financial models and quantitative analyses, paired with strong critical thinking and sound business judgment
- Ability to flex between high-level strategic thinking and deep analytical problem solving
- Motivated self-starter with a track record of success and a proven ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks while hitting deadlines. Desire to own and drive projects from Day 1
- Excellent communication skills and effective cross-functional collaborator
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Deep understanding of valuation methods and strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Stellar academic record with a degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.)

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000 - $191,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
