About the role
The Underwriting Support Associate provides administrative and analytical support to Underwriters. This role ensures proficient workflow, precise documentation and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders and teams enabling underwriters to make informed decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support underwriting team with evidence requirements.
- Track the status of applications and policies to ensure timely processing.
- Act as a liaison between agents, clients, policy servicing team and underwriters, providing updates and clarifications.
- Addressing sales queries timely within agreed SLA.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute regular MIS reports (e.g., productivity, quality scores, pending cases, turnaround times, vendor reports) to management for performance tracking and decision-making.
- Help process reinstatement requests. Gather the required documentation. Coordinate with underwriters and other teams. This ensures smooth processing and communication.
- Assist with special projects and analysis as assigned by the Underwriting support manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: >1-2 years in Life Insurance Operations, within Underwriting Support or policy servicing/customer service in the insurance sector.
- Education: Graduate in any stream (LOMA/III certifications are an advantage).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Insurance Core Systems (PAS).
- Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and MIS dashboards.
- Communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure, high-volume environments.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
