About the Role (What you'll be doing)

You will lead Juniper's content production studio, creating world-class content across platforms that drives growth and builds brand. Reporting to the Head of Growth, your mission is to lead a high-performing studio team while staying deeply hands-on—shooting, editing, and producing content for publishers, brands, and every channel in our growth ecosystem.

Your role is to lead a team of videographers, editors, and production coordinators who bring Juniper's content to life across all platforms. You're not here to simply manage from the sidelines—you're in the work every day, producing content, overseeing shoots, and ensuring that the studio operates as a creative powerhouse that delivers performance-driven content with genuine creative flair. Your team doesn't just execute briefs; they bring creativity, platform expertise, and craft to make every piece of content better.

We'll also expect you to:

  • Be Hands-On in Content Creation: Actively produce, shoot, and edit content alongside your team across all platforms—social, digital, publisher partnerships, and brand collaborations. You're not just managing—you're creating daily, leading by example and contributing to output that performs.
  • Lead the Content Studio Team: Manage and develop your direct reports (3 team members) while overseeing the broader production team (8 people total). Build a culture where creative flair, platform expertise, and collaboration thrive. Your team should feel empowered to bring ideas and experiment with what works.
  • Partner with the Growth Team: Work closely with growth marketing, performance, and creative leads to understand content needs across the funnel. You're a collaborative partner who brings production expertise, platform knowledge, and creative solutions to make growth content actually interesting and engaging.
  • Own Multi-Platform Content Excellence: Set and maintain content standards across all formats—social media, publisher content, branded partnerships, paid media, and organic content. Ensure everything that ships performs and looks great, whether it's a TikTok, a publisher collaboration, or a brand partnership asset. You understand that different platforms and partners have different needs, and you adapt accordingly.
  • Build Efficient Content Systems: Create production workflows that allow the team to deliver high volumes of content across multiple platforms without compromising quality or creative standards. Remove bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and ensure the team can move fast while maintaining creative flair.
  • Manage Cross-Platform Production: Oversee all content shoots—from large-scale productions to rapid-fire content days—while also being on set, shooting, and producing work yourself. Understand the nuances of creating for publishers vs. brands vs. owned channels, and ensure each format gets what it needs.
  • Bring Platform Expertise: Stay deeply knowledgeable about what works across platforms—social algorithms, publisher requirements, brand partnership standards, and emerging formats. Use this expertise to inform creative decisions and content strategy.
  • Drive Creative Problem-Solving: Bring production expertise to content challenges. Whether it's finding a more engaging way to tell a story, solving a technical challenge, or suggesting a new format that makes the content more shareable—you're always thinking about how to make it better.
  • Resource Planning & Budget Management: Manage production budgets, freelance resources, equipment, and external vendors. Ensure we're getting the best value while maintaining quality standards across all content types.
  • Champion Quality with Creative Flair: Ensure that every piece of content has personality and craft. You balance performance optimization with creative expression—the content should work hard, but it should also feel interesting, human, and on-brand.
  • Stay Current & Innovative: Keep the team on the cutting edge of content trends, platform updates, and production techniques. You're constantly testing new formats, studying what's working for publishers and brands, and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

About you (Who you are)

  • Cross-Platform Content Producer: 7+ years creating content across multiple platforms, with experience working with publishers (editorial content, sponsored content) and brands (branded content, partnerships, collaborations). You understand how to create for different contexts and audiences.
  • Hands-On Leader: You've led content and production teams while staying deeply involved in actually making content—shooting, editing, producing. You lead from the front and aren't afraid to jump into the work.
  • Platform Native: You genuinely understand what makes content work on different platforms. You know the difference between content for TikTok vs. Instagram vs. YouTube vs. publisher sites, and you bring that expertise to every project.
  • Creative with Commercial Sense: You have creative flair and want to make interesting, engaging content—but you also understand performance metrics and business goals. You can balance creativity with what actually drives results.
  • Publisher & Brand Experience: You've created content for external partners—whether that's publishers, brands, or both. You understand their needs, their audiences, and how to create content that works in their ecosystems while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maker at Heart: You genuinely love making content. You want to create something every day and you get a thrill from seeing content perform. You're energized by the craft of content creation and constantly looking for ways to improve.
  • Quality-Obsessed: You're never satisfied with "good enough." You want every piece of content to be more engaging, more creative, and more effective than the last. You notice the details and push your team to constantly raise the bar.
  • Systems Thinker: You've built content production workflows that allow teams to create high volumes of content efficiently without sacrificing creative quality. You remove friction and create smart processes.
  • Technically Expert: You have deep knowledge of video production, editing, platform specifications, and content formats. You can troubleshoot technical challenges and know how to optimize for each platform.
  • Collaborative: You work well with growth teams, creative leads, partners, and freelancers. You bring people together to create great content.
