Associate Director, Renewable Energy Data Strategy & Solutions
About Us
Euclid Power is a renewable energy software and services company that is building the operating system for the renewable energy industry; we make data management and workflow tools to help project developers and investors build more renewable energy projects. We believe it is time that the process of deploying renewable energy projects was powered by software, as much as social media or online ads.
Euclid is trusted by some of the largest solar investors, solar developers, utilities, and technology integrators to provide software, guidance, and project diligence support. Euclid is a company led by a world-class team of renewable energy, software, product, and project management veterans. Our solutions have driven the creation of over 7GW of renewable energy capacity across hundreds of projects.
Our company is committed to hiring talented team members and advisors who are hardworking, passionate, and committed to our mission. Hires at this stage will immediately contribute to the DNA of our product, processes, and, most importantly, culture. At Euclid, learning, growing, and testing the best ideas are central to our approach to solving one of the world’s most important challenges: climate change.
About The Role & Team We are adding a Associate Director, Renewable Energy Data Solutions to our Services Team. Reporting to the Director of Service Delivery, this individual will serve as an integral resource and leader, responsible for maximizing the value of Euclid’s vast - and growing - quantitative and qualitative industry and project-specific data. This role establishes and implements both a framework and strategy for collecting and organizing data while also working across disciplines to determine the most effective pathways for a broader set of stakeholders to access and make use of this information. The ideal candidate has a robust background in renewable energy development, acquisition, construction and asset management as well as experience in database structuring, management, integration and user interfaces, exceptional people management and interpersonal skills, a deep commitment to continuously improving process and institutional knowledge, and a strong operational perspective for executing real change across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
Database Strategy and Framework
- Lead the strategy and framework to create a database and organization process for Euclid’s industry and project information
- Leveraging a background in renewable energy, this role will collaborate with senior leadership and the Product and Smartsheet teams to develop an overall strategy and framework to capture, organize and maintain an accessible, actionable and scalable database that integrates quantitative and qualitative project and industry information collected via Euclid’s software platform throughout the project lifecycle. This will require close collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams across Euclid’s Services and Product verticals, but also leadership in synthesizing different workstreams into a framework that allows Euclid to utilize data while scaling efficiently. Our teams are looking for direction on a solution that best fits the diverse data that Euclid ingests, but with careful attention paid to the overall commercial needs of the business.
- Develop short, medium and long-term plans for extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, as well as clarity on how the solution can scale and flex as Euclid does. This will require an understanding of Euclid’s Services and Software-only product offerings as well as an understanding of the ever-changing renewable energy industry.
Data Capture and Organization Implementation
- Lead an implementation team to roll out the database strategy and framework and begin utilizing Euclid’s quantitative data in the short-term, with a goal of incorporating qualitative data in the medium to long term.
- Near-Term Goal: Working with the Product team, you will build and deploy the database and corresponding strategy. Once built, start pulling project data - primarily quantitative in the short-term - from Smartsheet and the Euclid app and organizing it into the database. As the data is ingested, careful management and ability to be flexible with the organization is critical to success.
- Long-Term Goal: Continue to guide the expansion of the database by capturing and managing qualitative data from diverse data sources - both internal and industry sources while continuing to leverage AI technology to make this process faster, more accurate and more efficient. Additionally, explore additional opportunities to leverage the data across the renewable energy industry. This will require a robust understanding of renewable energy projects as well as creativity to determine the organizational and management approach that will make this data most useful for Euclid’s teams and - in the future - customers.
Data Dissemination Strategy and Implementation
- Collaborate on an internal knowledge management program and create user-friendly interfaces to efficiently and intuitively disseminate quantitative and qualitative data
- Working with the Director of Service Delivery, the Program Manager of Project Onboarding and Knowledge Management, and the Services Directors, you will develop internal strategies and resources for Euclid’s team members to easily access and understand project and industry details and data. Ranging from quantitative to qualitative you will develop and implement strategies that allow internal stakeholders to easily access, understand this information and put it to use in active engagements.
- Create a user-friendly interface and train internal users on its use
- With the knowledge dissemination strategy in-place, you and your team will work with the Product team to develop and launch a user-friendly interface that allows internal users to easily access information from the database. Additionally, working with the Program Manager of Knowledge Management, you will create a training program for internal users. Finally, you will regularly solicit feedback from internal teams on the use, efficiency and utility of the database and corresponding interface, and make updates and adjustments as needed.
People
- People leadership and mentorship
- This role will provide leadership, oversight and mentorship to a growing team of project analysts. These analysts will be both thought partners in the design and implementation of the program, but also learning more sophisticated data analytics and management techniques from you. Strong mentorship and willingness to foster talent is a requirement of this role.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering, computer science, and/or information systems, preferably within the renewable energy or construction sectors.
- Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in renewable energy project development, acquisitions and operations
- Deep understanding of the renewable energy industry, including data sources and industry-specific analytics and data points

- Familiarity with programming in languages such as Python, Java, and/or Scala
- Excellent communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including demonstrated experience using creative solutions to unforeseen problems
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships with different types of personalities
- A self-starter looking to take ownership of a problem, create a strategy and lead the technical and non-technical aspects of implementation
