The Eventbrite Ads pillar is growing in order to accelerate our ability to deliver a world-class ad solution to our creators. THE TEAM

The Creator Experience team operates in the Eventbrite Ads Business and manages our creators’ entry points into the ads ecosystem. The main focus of our team is to enable creators to promote their events across Eventbrite owned destinations and deliver a delightful consumer experience. The team is responsible for the UI and backend that supports the creation and management of ad campaigns. Features include, but are not limited to, solutions for targeting attendees based on geography and other attributes, keeping creators up to date with timely emails reporting campaign status, showing the creators the performance of ad campaigns, and invoicing them for their ad spend. By joining us you can enable the team to bring ads creation to the next level, while collaborating with other engineers in multiple product teams across the advertising pillar.

Our engineering teams own their services and systems end to end from requirements gathering to testing to deployment to maintenance. Team members follow an on-call rotation to ensure any issues are mitigated immediately and root causes are rectified.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will extend the underlying framework and APIs for the ads creator ecosystem and contribute to building  beautiful, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces that people who create and advertise events are excited to use. You will collaborate with product, design, and front-end engineers to formulate and implement solutions to various needs and requirements. You will solve challenging technical problems and own your impactful features across the full stack, while guiding junior engineers and influencing engineering leaders.

This role will be instrumental in making the Eventbrite experience a great one for our event creators and customers. THE TECH STACK

The Eventbrite Ads team uses FastAPI, a Python-based web framework, to power our Web APIs. We make extensive use of AWS, including ECS/Fargate to host our services, Lambda, S3, OpenSearch, Timestream, and DynamoDB and Aurora MySQL for data storage. On the frontend, we use React and Typescript for rapid, iterative development.

THE SKILLSET

  • 4 years experience building customer-facing software applications
  • Strong experience with high-level languages, specifically Python
  • Practical experience working with HTML, CSS, Ajax, Javascript. Modern frontend frameworks like React
  • Familiarity with the SDLC and CI/CD pipelines
  • Unit-testing know-how required, experience with TDD or BDD is an added bonus
  • You have experience designing and developing APIs
  • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Services
  • Experience with MySQL, Aurora, or other RDBMS (NoSQL is a plus)
  • A result driven self starter with great communication and collaboration skills who enjoys learning and helping their teammates grow
  • You care about making sure your code is maintainable and well tested
  • You work with teams that are continuously delivering and automating processes, you are excited about working in a world class SDLC environment

BONUS POINTS FOR

  • A/B Testing knowledge and/or experience
  • Experience in Martech, Ads, or similar industries and functions
  • Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
  • Experience with Timestream, DynamoDB, or Snowflake
  • Experience with Configuration as Code, such as CDK or Terraform

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Eventbrite, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in Eventbrite’s incentive program(s) (such as equity, annual incentive bonus and commission plans), subject to the applicable rules and restrictions.
