You will be joining a high-performing group of individuals who serve as the backbone for the revenue engine and contribute to shaping our technology strategy to deliver profitable business outcomes. We are looking for someone to join our team who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and loves problem-solving and building for scale.

THE TEAM

The GTM (Go-to-market) Business Systems team is responsible for providing thoughtful solutions to solve stakeholder (Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Service Design) challenges. We are passionate about GTM tools and align ourselves as the trusted advisor to our business as it relates to the GTM Tech Stack. Our focus goes beyond day-to-day support of user requests and platform management, operating as proactive thought leaders for the tools Eventbrite should leverage and how they should be leveraged to support our GTM.

THE ROLE

The Web Application Developer is primarily responsible for implementing and developing solutions according to specific requirements.  Their primary focus will be as a front-end developer working with a React project built using GatsbyJS. They will assist with system implementations and support tasks. The Web Developer will provide feedback on requested designs, make recommendations for optimization, and communicate potential impacts and concerns. They will ensure comprehensive documentation exists for the solutions shipped and communicate to facilitate understanding of owned systems when needed. You will work with a team that is expected to deliver on high-visibility projects and processes that contribute to an exceptional customer experience through digital transformation. As a technical expert, you will be expected to advise on solutions to address business requirements and customer needs. It would be valuable in this role if you are solution-focused, hardworking, and analytical. Also having exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with different stakeholders across different departments are key skills to have.

  • Accurately implement design specifications and work collaboratively with the Service Design team and other stakeholders to optimize the user experience
  • Write and review code for sites, typically HTML, XML, React or JavaScript
  • Plan and assist in supporting integrations and implementations of new technologies/platforms
  • Systematically conduct website audits to ensure that our digital properties continue to reflect our mission, goals, and objectives in a cohesive and streamlined fashion
  • Integrate new web products and technologies with existing web applications to improve functionality and user experience
  • Stay current with evolving technologies as they affect our site, and be the key person to suggest and implement upgrades/changes
  • Stay current with developments and generate new ideas to enhance our Help Center (content delivery and access flows)
  • Write clear, maintainable, thoroughly-tested code with a focus on quality, security, and performance
  • Write technical documentation, including test plans, deployment procedures, maintenance instructions, post-mortems, and user documentation as needed
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external teams
  • Work with teams to define and clarify requirements as well as estimate the level of effort needed to develop and ship
  • Time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

THE SKILL SET

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in front-end development
  • Experience building applications in a mainstream programming language: Python, Javascript
  • Experience using some form of web framework: React
  • Comfortable using a SQL database: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, etc
  • Experience building user interfaces with Javascript frameworks and libraries like React, Vue, Angular and Aura
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux, shell scripting
  • Understanding of Design Patterns and Software Engineering practices
  • Web programming skills
  • Responsive Web Design
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, security principles, object-oriented design, web services, and multimedia content development
  • Written and oral communication skills

  • Creative thinking

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Eventbrite, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in Eventbrite’s incentive program(s) (such as equity, annual incentive bonus and commission plans), subject to the applicable rules and restrictions.
