Summary
We are seeking a conscientious ag/dairy-oriented intern for our fast-growing supply chain management services business. The intern will learn to leverage data, analytics and technology to manage and improve dairy supply chains for leading customers. Role will enable intern to gain real-world experience, build valuable knowledge, and establish relationships with dairy cooperatives, producers and haulers.
What are some potential projects?
- Support Logistics team with general duties, including planning, scheduling, and optimization of milk routes.
- Learn Ever.Ag technology platforms for scheduling and tracking dairy products.
- Help create milk schedules that optimize cost and satisfy plant needs.
- Provide ad hoc support to haulers on usage of Ever.Ag technology platforms.
- Assist leadership with haul-cost analysis, benchmarking and rate-targeting to be used in hauler negotiations.
- Participate with management in hauler negotiations and learn to approach and resolve cost and rate issues.
- Assist management in tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Coordinate with Haulers and customers on all Compliance requirements, including PMO, DOT regulations, and customer SOPs.
- At conclusion of program intern will create and deliver a presentation on their projects and experience to manager and other key business leaders.
What competencies can you expect to receive/improve
Intern will gain knowledge about the practical workings and costs of the dairy supply chain, technologies used to manage load scheduling and tracking, hauler rate analysis and benchmarking and hauler relations and rate negotiation.
About You (Qualifications):
- Must be within a year of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree and/or have graduated within the previous 12 months with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Studies should be focused on Agriculture and/or Supply Chain.
- Experience in leadership including team management and/or project management is preferred.
- Willingness to provide after-hours response if needed.
- Successful applicant will be legally eligible to work in U.S.
- Knowledge or experience in Dispatching is a plus!
