Tax Manager

The Evergreen holding company team is comprised of 40+ professionals based in San Francisco who are focused on capital allocation, M&A, executive level hiring, strategic board leadership, and finance and accounting. Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager specializing in Tax and Compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing tax compliance and accounting functions in a fast-paced, highly acquisitive environment. This role will also involve capitalization table management and ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations in the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize tax positions and minimize tax liabilities.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Audit Support: Manage tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and responses.
- Cap Table Management: Oversee and manage the company’s cap table, ensuring accuracy and compliance with equity distribution.
- International Taxation: Handle international tax issues, including transfer pricing, tax treaties, and cross-border transactions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial and tax regulations, staying updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax and compliance activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance, legal, and external auditors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in tax accounting

- Strong knowledge of U.S. and international tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with cap table management and equity distribution.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Federal partnership and some corporate tax experience including provisions
- Some International tax experience
- Experience in a private equity-backed environment is a plus.
Other Information
- This role is primarily remote (preference for those around Chicago, IL or Columbus, OH or San Francisco, CA). Quarterly travel to our HQ in San Francisco is required.
- The salary range for this role is $145k base + up to 20% bonus
