The VP of Digital will be responsible for Everlane’s direct-to-customer profit and loss (P&L) by driving the digital vision and strategy to shape the customer shopping experience on Everlane.com. This includes overseeing all aspects of the e-commerce business, including site experience, site merchandising, site production, and operations through digital transformation, innovation, and customer-centric digital solutions. The VP of Digital will lead the integration of digital technologies into the company’s business models, operations, and customer experience to drive efficiency, growth, and customer engagement to improve the overall customer experience on Everlane.com. This role requires a deep understanding of emerging digital trends, the ability to execute a company-wide digital transformation, and a passion for optimizing the digital ecosystem.

This role will oversee technology, e-commerce, paid media and acquisitions, retention, and customer experience teams. It is a full-time role based at our San Francisco office, headquartered in the Mission neighborhood. Our work week is a hybrid of at least 3 days in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. All other days are optional in the office.

Your day-to-day:

  • Direct to Customer P&L Responsibility: Drive the digital vision and strategy to shape the customer shopping experience on Everlane.com to evolve the customer's core digital experience through site performance, merchandising strategy, ideation, testing, and optimization of critical site features, as well as tools to better manage the site experience.  You will be responsible for driving higher engagement and conversion on Everlane.com.
  • Digital Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of the company’s digital strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals and objectives by working with channel leads to elevate Everlane’s stories and shops in user journeys.  You will drive efficiency, growth, and customer engagement to improve the overall customer experience on Everlane.com.
  • Digital Transformation: Spearhead digital initiatives across the organization to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and innovation through identifying emerging digital trends.  You will have a passion for optimizing the digital ecosystem to enhance customer experience and loyalty.
  • Innovation Leadership: Stay at the forefront of emerging digital trends, technologies, and innovations, recommending strategic digital investments and partnerships.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Merchandising, Creative, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience, to drive digital initiatives across the company. 
  • Digital Platforms & Solutions: Oversee the development, integration, and optimization of digital platforms (web, mobile, e-commerce, etc.) to enhance user experience and engagement.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analytics and digital tools to provide actionable insights that drive business decision-making and improve customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Change Management: Lead the cultural shift toward digital adoption within the company by promoting innovation, digital literacy, and collaboration among teams.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage the digital budget and resources, ensuring cost-effective and impactful digital initiatives are prioritized.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Ensure digital initiatives comply with industry standards, regulations, and cybersecurity best practices to protect customer data and company assets.
  • Performance Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuously track the performance of digital initiatives to ensure objectives are met.
  • Digital Marketing: Develop a framework to connect with consumers to drive engagement, conversions, and sales by leveraging strategies that include social media marketing, email campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click advertising (PPC), content marketing, and more.  

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous P&L responsibility for a direct-to-customer business.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in senior leadership roles, ideally in a VP of Digital, Digital Transformation, or similar role within a fashion DTC business.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of digital technologies, platforms, and tools (e.g., AI, machine learning, cloud, analytics, e-commerce).
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, customer engagement strategies, and online business models.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior executives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to lead change management initiatives and foster a culture of digital innovation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in specific industries such as e-commerce, SaaS, or technology-driven businesses.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of digital revenue models and monetization strategies.

California Residents:  At Everlane, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The annual compensation range for this role is $200,000 - $275,000. This range is based on the San Francisco geographic area, and the actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
