Senior Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our GL Accounting Team. This role is integral to our month-end close process and will take ownership of key technical accounting areas.
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards for accuracy and efficiency. You are detail-oriented and process-driven. This is a critical, hands-on role where you will be directly involved in the success of the month-end close process.
This is a full-time, exempt position based in our Oakland, California office with a hybrid work schedule: in office M/W/Th with the option to work from home Tu/Fr.

In your role, you'll...
- Perform month-end close tasks for key technical areas, including ASC 842 lease accounting, Capitalized Internal-Use Software (IDSW), and stock-based compensation.
- Manage and prepare complex accruals, expense allocations, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and present monthly flux analysis, providing business context and commentary for your areas of ownership.
- Manage intercompany accounting, including generation of monthly cost-plus bills, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Drive initiatives to improve processes and build efficiencies in the month-end close to shorten timelines and improve accuracy.
- Work closely with management to identify internal control gaps and build/implement solutions.
- Play a critical role in supporting annual audits for both US and UK entities.
- Be flexible to tackle new accounting tasks or ad-hoc projects as needed.
About you
- Experience: You have at least 3 years of experience in an accounting role, with specific expertise in high volume reconciliations.
- Operational Mindset: You are comfortable executing daily tasks with high accuracy and utilize your prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
- Detail-Oriented & Proactive: Uphold data integrity by looking beyond the process—proactively identifying, investigating, and resolving irregularities.
- Process Oriented: You thrive in a process-driven work environment and look for ways to make workflows more efficient.
Pluses
- You have experience in Google sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- You have experience working in a startup environment.
- Experience with Netsuite, Zip, or Celigo’s Cash Application Module
Work Authorization
- You are authorized to work in the United States. Please note that currently, Everlaw is not sponsoring employment visas for this role.
Benefits
- The expected salary range for this role is between $108,000 - $137,000 on an annualized basis. The final offered salary will be dependent upon many factors including the candidate’s experience and skills. The base pay range is subject to change in the future.
