About the Role 
 
As a Semi-Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability.  

Building upon solid foundational experience, this role focuses on troubleshooting complex system issues, enhancing automation processes, and contributing to infrastructure and architecture improvements.  

You’ll collaborate closely with the DevOps Manager, Engineering, and cross-functional teams across our Montevideo office, acting as a bridge between development and infrastructure to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient systems that support our product and customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Maintain and optimize Linux-based production environments. 

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments 

• Manage and improve cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) 

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational processes 

• Monitor system health and performance, ensuring high availability and reliability 

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues 

• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to improve release processes and system stability 

• Contribute to infrastructure and architecture improvements 

• Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis 

• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and operational efficiency

Knowledge and Experience  

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration (CLI, processes, permissions, networking fundamentals) 

• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, and IAM 

• Working knowledge of MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis 

• Experience writing automation scripts (Bash, Python, or similar) 

• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts 

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture and system design principles 

• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, actions or similar) 

• Monitoring (Prometheus / Grafana)
