What You Will Do:
The Registered Nurse provides health services to youth in residential and school settings. This role provides nursing care, manages medications, coordinates medical care, and supports the health and safety of youth while ensuring compliance with Maryland regulations and Everstand standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Model and act in accordance with Everstand’s core values: safety, empathy, relationships, and impact.

  • Obtain and maintain certification as a “user” in Everstand’s electronic health record software system.   
  • Responsible for the ongoing timely management and completion of youths’ wellness visits in accordance with regulations to ensure that changes in youths’ health status are being addressed and are known to the youths’ primary care provider and responsible parties.
  • Responsible for medication management, including medication transcription, administration, adequate storage, refills, provider orders, and makes appropriate recommendations to the authorized prescriber or designee as necessary.
  • Maintains current scheduled and controlled drug record in accordance with state or federal laws.
  • Participates actively in the quality improvement process by identifying opportunities for process improvement, attending facility wide committee meetings; submits required reports; recommends plans for improvements.
  • Maintenance of confidential files and adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Infection control and disposal of contaminated waste including tasks that may involve exposure to the patients’ blood and/or body fluids.
  • Must be able to maintain satisfactory attendance and report for duty as scheduled.
  • Oversight, assessment, and guidance related to the use of restraints 
  • Contributes to the prevention and management of challenging behaviors by implementing the Everstand’s Behavior Management and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Techniques.
  • Provides mandatory on-call coverage as required. 

Supervisory Responsibility:
Provides oversight and training to Certified Medication Technicians.

Work Environment:
Residential and school settings; may involve challenging youth behavior and exposure to blood or bodily fluids.

Physical Demands:
Ability to perform routine nursing and office activities and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time, in-person position. Based out of our Denton, Maryland Campus. 

The hours may vary depending on shift. Shift information is provided by the Charge Nurse. This position may require flexible work hours to include mandatory overtime, on-site and off-site attendance at meetings. This position is essential during inclement weather.

 Available shifts: Once Every 45 Days

Travel:
Primarily local travel, with occasional travel for site audits.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Diploma, Associates, or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing 
  • Possession of an active Registered Nurse license without disciplinary infractions by Maryland Board of Nursing
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience preferably in a pediatric office, group home setting, and/or residential treatment center. 

Other Duties:
Responsibilities may change based on organizational and program needs.

Salary placement within the range is based on the candidate's qualifications and years of relevant experience.
