INTAKE SPECIALIST

Schedule: Sunday 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; Monday–Wednesday 12:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
Language Requirement: Fluent in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Support the safety, wellness, and successful transition of youth through trauma-informed care, intake and discharge coordination, and a safe, structured, therapeutic environment. Serve as a resource, mentor, and coach to direct care staff while collaborating with supervisors and the care team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate youth intake, admission, and discharge processes and required documentation.

  • Welcome and orient new youth while promoting a safe and supportive environment.

  • Coach and mentor direct care staff in trauma-informed and therapeutic practices.

  • Support individualized safety, behavioral, and treatment interventions.

  • Promote unit routines, programming, life skills, and positive youth development.

  • Support youth with emotional regulation, decision-making, and daily living skills.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and clinical staff on youth programming and care.

  • Administer medications as directed and provide safe transportation as needed.

  • Maintain compliance with Everstand, ORR, safety, documentation, and training requirements.

  • Support staffing coverage, meetings, on-call responsibilities, and other program needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience working with youth in a social services setting.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish.

  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to complete required certifications, background checks, screenings, and ORR-mandated training.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate an agency vehicle.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience working with youth in a social services setting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office and behavioral health treatment environment and may involve challenging youth behavior. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds is required.

This is a full-time, non-flex schedule position with weekend, extended-hour, and on-call responsibilities. The position is essential during snow emergencies.
