Bilingual Case Manager- Caminos Program 

Reports To: Lead Case Manager

What You’ll Do

Under the direction of the Lead Case Manager, the Case Manager coordinates comprehensive, trauma-informed case management services for children in care. This position ensures each child receives individualized support, timely services, and coordinated care throughout their placement and transition to appropriate post-release services.

The Case Manager serves as a key liaison between children, families, sponsors, internal care teams, external providers, and community partners. Success in this role requires strong communication, organization, sound judgment, cultural responsiveness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate individualized case management services and referrals based on each child’s needs.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for children, families, sponsors, providers, and community partners.
  • Coordinate medical, behavioral health, educational, legal, recreational, child advocacy, and other support services.
  • Collaborate with clinical, medical, educational, program, and external care teams to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
  • Complete assessments, care plans, case reviews, reports, and required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Coordinate interpretation and translation services to support effective communication with children and families.
  • Support sponsor assessments, safety planning, family visitation, community resource identification, and reunification efforts.
  • Coordinate safe and timely release, transfer, and reunification planning in accordance with federal and ORR requirements.
  • Ensure continuity of child-specific services and identified needs following release.
  • Monitor progress toward individual goals and participate in case management meetings and staffing.
  • Meet assigned children face-to-face at least weekly and provide regular case updates.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready electronic case records.
  • Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports and updates.
  • Coordinate legal services, including Know Your Rights presentations, attorney meetings, and consular visits.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and maintain compliance with mandatory reporting, confidentiality, PSA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of Everstand and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policies related to Unaccompanied Children.
  • Maintain required certification for Everstand’s Cx360 electronic health record system.
  • Participate in assigned evening and weekend coverage based on program needs.

Work Environment & Schedule

Sunday - Thursday 9AM to 5PM

This is a full-time position based primarily in an office, residential, and school environment. Due to the nature of the work, employees may encounter challenging behaviors, including emotional outbursts, physical agitation, or aggression. Staff are expected to respond using trauma-informed approaches, appropriate de-escalation techniques, sound judgment, and established safety procedures.

Schedules are flexible based on program needs and may include evenings and weekends. A flex schedule may be available. The position is non-essential during inclement weather.

Local travel is expected during the business day, with occasional out-of-area or overnight travel.

Employees may occasionally be required to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel, or lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, social services, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Child welfare and/or case management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children, youth, families, or vulnerable populations preferred.

Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing and maintaining required certifications, screenings, and background checks, including:

  • TCI and CPR/First Aid certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • State and federal background and fingerprinting checks, including CPS/UII as applicable.
  • TB screening, where required.
  • Work-readiness physical.
  • Required drug screening, including random screening as applicable.
  • Federal suitability determination in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Completion of required ORR training, including trauma-informed care, cultural competency, PSA, mandatory reporting, confidentiality, and related requirements.
