About the role
The Senior Financial Accountant will act with integrity ensuring accurate accounting and reporting results on a monthly and annual basis.
The Senior Financial Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations. This position will also provide assistance with month- end closing responsibilities, data collection and preparation of monthly metrics.
The role is ideally suited to someone keen to expand their SaaS knowledge and overall business experience in a fast moving, dynamic environment. The company is also upgrading financial and operational systems so a great opportunity exists to expand systems experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis to support management decision making
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial accounts including duties ranging from prepayment / PO accrual posting, loan interest posting, GL account variance analysis etc
- Provide financial insight and analysis to stakeholders across the business
- Prepare financial reporting to various stakeholders on a timely basis
- Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function liaising with other functions in the finance department
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Essential Criteria
- Chartered accountant qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience in financial reporting and analysis
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
- 1+ years of industry experience
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in a similar role in a technology or software company
- Experience with SAP / SAGE accounting software
