About the role

As a Paralegal for Everway you are key to ensuring our sales, procurement and other teams have timely access to legal advice to ensure a smooth customer journey for all our legal customers both internal and external. Your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities related to terms and conditions, data protection and information security compliance within the organisation. 

Main Responsibilities

  • You are a legal subject matter expert on SAAS contracting with customers. Helping to refine our existing T&Cs, reviewing customer redlines and customer T&Cs where applicable. Providing advice and guidance to the sales team on risks and being involved in conversations with customers to resolve points of disagreement. A proactive risk aware approach for a company with a big ambition.
  • Reviewing contract terms with our suppliers ensuring procurement and the business understand the legal risks of each contract and again providing support with conversations with suppliers to resolve points of contention. 
  • Work collaboratively within the legal team to ensure all responses to customer requests are responded to within SLAs set with our customers
  • Build and enhance other governance documentation and processes as required for example delegation of authority, data protection policies.
  • Work closely with stakeholders both internal and external on matters such as Data Processing Agreements, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and responding to Subject Access Requests. 
  • Provide advice and support on the management of intellectual property portfolio (including some IP infringement related work)
  • Work in a post merger/ acquisition environment to tidy up contracting entities with customers and suppliers as required
  • Provide advice and guidance on contracting entities, completion of vendor forms as required
  • Contribute to corporate transactions and risk management.
  • Other activity as required by your manager 

Essential Criteria 

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or Specialist Paralegal Qualification (NALP)
  • Familiarity with contract law in a SAAS environment
  • Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations 
  • Experience in an M&A environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organisation
