About the role
Everway is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Instructional Research Assistant (Contractor) to support our internal instructional design team. This role is a dedicated resource for conducting educational research, with a focus on studies related to instructing students with complex needs. This work will accelerate the research and analysis process, allowing the instructional design team to focus on direct application and design work.
Responsibilities
- Research & Compilation
- Proactively find and review academic research related to modified core curriculum and pedagogical goals.
- Analyze research for empirical evidence and biases.
- Provide citations for all research compiled.
- Synthesis & Summary
- Synthesize complex research findings into clear, concise summaries and reports that directly inform decision-making for the instructional design team.
- Consultation & Clarification
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for the instructional design team, answering clarifying questions about research findings.
Skills
- Research Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in finding, compiling, and analyzing academic and empirical research.
- Instructional Expertise: Deep knowledge of special education, differentiation, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and evidence-based practices for instruction.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to serve as a liaison between different teams and guide productive discussions.
- Adaptability: A strategic and adaptable mindset, capable of anticipating changes in project scope.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field such as education, special education, or curriculum and instruction
- Certifications or additional training in research methodologies or data analysis preferred
- Professional development in evidence-based practices for instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), or special education.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
