About the role

You will join one of our platform teams, responsible for building some of the core services within Everway including user management, identities and licensing. The team is remote and distributed across northern and western Europe, currently consisting of around 10 people, incl. PM, EM and QA and mostly senior engineers.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a platform team, focusing on building scalable, robust and compliant services that support the rest of the organisation and, in some cases, the users of the Everway products. While most work is backend focused, some frontend may also be expected. We value helpful team members  who can understand how the services we provide can be adopted by our product teams.

We have a strong roadmap ahead, approached with agility and a belief in continuous improvement, both in how we work and the services we provide.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers
  • Participate in the development of technical documentation
  • Contribute to the development of our overall software development process, including code reviews, version control, and continuous integration/continuous delivery
  • Work with our Infrastructure team who will assist with hosting and server configurations, and ensure that all software meets the highest standards of security
  • Work with the QA team to ensure the software meets our high quality standards
  • Participate in Agile development practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Continuously improve and optimise our software architecture and development processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software development

Essential Criteria

  • 3+ years’ experience in a software development role at an intermediate/senior level
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (C#)
  • Experience of working with one of the following
    • Identity providers and SSO
    • Licensing and access
    • Large scale user-management and RBAC
  • Experience working with cloud services
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Experience working in a remote team
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of development using database technologies (e.g., SQL, MySQL)
  • Experience of development using AWS
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g. Azure devops, Pipelines etc. )
  • Knowledge of secure coding practises for web development - eg: OWASP Top 10
