About the role

As a Senior Accountant, you'll help ensure accurate financial reporting across the business by preparing monthly accounting entries, reconciliations and financial analysis in line with US GAAP.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance to support month-end close, statutory reporting, audits and process improvements. You'll also contribute to improving accounting processes and strengthening financial controls in a growing global SaaS business.

Main responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis for assigned entities and functional areas.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules to support month-end close.
  • Prepare payroll-related accounting entries, including employer costs, commissions, bonuses and PTO accruals.
  • Prepare revenue and deferred revenue journals and own the reconciliation of these balances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis to stakeholders across the business.
  • Support statutory and external audits through the preparation of reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the accounting function while working closely with colleagues across Finance.
  • Help maintain accurate and complete financial records and strengthen financial controls.
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.

Essential criteria

  • Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience preparing financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end accounting.
  • Experience supporting external audit processes.
  • Experience using accounting systems and financial software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within reporting deadlines.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across a global organisation.

Desirable criteria

  • 3+ years' experience in a SaaS or similarly complex commercial environment.
  • Experience working in a private equity-backed organisation.
  • Experience using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
  • Experience using FloQast.
  • Experience using AI or automation tools to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
