The Everybody Votes Campaign, established in 2015, is a national coordinating body focused on narrowing the voter registration gap in communities of color. We are committed to creating a more representative democracy by building and supporting large scale, long term voter registration in communities of color. We partner with local organizations to support accessible, successful, and high quality voter registration programs that expand access to our democracy for people in communities of color.

 

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The campaign seeks an experienced and dedicated individual to fill the role of Senior Data and Tools Manager, working under the Director of Data Infrastructure.  As part of its voter registration efforts, the Everybody Votes Campaign manages tools and data pipelines that have allowed EVC’s partners to register millions of voter registration applications in underrepresented communities across the country. The Sr. Partner Data and Tools Manager will manage a small team of tools coordinators and trainers to ensure that our dozens of voter registration partners have the technology and tools training required to execute effective, safe voter registration drives.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE

Staff Management and partner support

  • Lead and manage a small team of tools coordinators and trainers, providing guidance, support, and professional development
  • Provide data and tools support for “book closing” processes leading up to primary and general election deadlines 
  • Work closely with voter registration partner organizations to understand their needs and challenges related to data and technology, and facilitate communication about those needs with internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to tool adoption, data utilization, and partner satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely support to partner organizations.

Tools and Pipeline Administration

  • Oversee the administration of several tools partners use for voter registration
  • Oversee periodic audits of database access
  • Lead the management of some tool integrations
  • Use database administration best practices to ensure that we maintain quality data and rigorous programmatic definitions
  • Collaborate with the Director of Data Infrastructure to identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and tools to enhance voter registration efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy and security best practices
  • Provide input and guidance to our product development teams to ensure that new development meets the needs of our partners

Technology Training

  • Oversee the development and delivery of technology training programs for voter registration partners on the effective use of provided tools and data pipelines.
  • Ensure voter registration partners have the necessary technical support and resources to utilize the campaign's tools and data effectively.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and training materials for all campaign tools and data processes.
  • Prepare and present reports on tool usage, training progress, and impact to the Director of Data Infrastructure and other stakeholders.

 

With consideration for the fact that workloads evolve over time and that not all work related to this role is foreseeable, this role is responsible for other duties as assigned

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing data, technology, or training programs, preferably within the non-profit, political, or civic engagement sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading a team.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, database concepts, and data security best practices.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability  to diagnose and resolve technical issues.   

20-25% travel required: This role involves extensive travel, comprising 20-25% of the working time, to attend staff events, statewide/national program kickoff trainings, and support partners with book closings at the end of program

  • Experience using SQL best practices to manage relational SQL databases (Vertica,
  • Redshift, PostgreSQL, etc.) – Helpful but not required
  • Working knowledge of tools and tactics in the fields of voter registration or voting rights – Helpful but not required
  •  
  • Previous experience working with VAN, Catalist, Politech, or tools and datasets  used to target and implement civic engagement programs – Helpful but not required

Salary Range: $101,000- $119,500
