Veterinary Technician - ICU

Friendship Hospital for Animals is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time ICU Veterinary technician in our expanding Patient Care Department that currently includes several board-certified criticalists, one doctor who is residency trained in E/CC, and 11 full-time emergency staff doctors. We are currently seeking to add additional criticalists to our growing caseload.
 
Our ICU technicians are tasked with caring for our more critically ill patients and/or those requiring a high intensity of care. You must demonstrate a mastery of most technical skills, including simple surgical assisting and anesthetic monitoring. Although your primary role is facilitating patient care under the direction of the veterinarian and/or patient care supervisor, you will also be expected to take on more leadership responsibilities including training and mentoring junior team members.

Signing bonus for LVT/CVT/RVT or at least 2 years of applicable experience. Bonus will dispersed half on first paycheck and half after 90 days of employment.

Position Requirements:
  • Provide a high level of nursing care to patients under the direction of the veterinarian
  • Perform technical skills as required
  • Provide support to the supervisor as needed
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of all assistants and junior technicians
  • Perform hospital sanitation and maintain treatment stock as needed
  • Participate in continuing education and actively work to increase skill set
  • Actively participate in generating solutions for problems or challenges in the department
  • Other duties as assigned

$30 - $33 USD
