Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

Coral Springs Animal Hospital (CSAH) is seeking excellent candidates to join our growing hospital as part of our Internal Medicine Department! CSAH is a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Care/Specialty & Primary Care hospital with board-certified doctors in each department. Role Responsibilities:

• Work independently under the guidance of the Internal Medicine specialist 
• Assist with advanced procedures such as ultrasounds, endoscopies, and radiographs
• Calculate and administer medications and prescribed therapy while ensuring pets' safety and comfort
• Keep detailed patient records to ensure smooth communication and top-notch care
• Educate and support pet owners, giving them all the info they need about their pet's health and care
• Proficiency in technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, blood pressure measurement, etc. 
• Induce and monitor anesthesia, managing anesthetic emergencies during procedures 
• Be able to field phone calls from clients, schedule IMED appointments, and refill prescriptions 
• Communication with clients, Patient Care technicians, and staff doctors regarding in-house patients 
• Generate treatment sheets for in-hospital patients following the orders of the Internal Medicine Specialist 
• Maintain the sanitation, stocking, and inventory of the IMED department
• Proper routine care and maintenance of all IMED equipment 
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician with a degree from an AVMA accredited program, preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a veterinary technician, with an interest or experience in Internal Medicine
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, diagnostics, and treatments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment
• Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and clients
