Veterinary Emergency Department Manager

Friendship Hospital for Animals, a leading AAHA- accredited hospital located in Washington D.C.  is seeking a motivational and knowledgeable Department Manager to lead our Emergency team from the clinical floor. About the role: 

The Emergency Department Manager is responsible for leading the incredible technicians and assistants of our ER department in a collaborative manner. This person will be responsible but not limited to providing coaching and mentorship, training and development, upholding patient care, optimizing workflows, and quality assurance. This person not only needs to have developed leadership skills, but a solid technical foundation is a must.

Schedule: This is a full-time position. Schedule will be based around departmental needs. Some weekends and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as an ER veterinary technician
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience required, preferably in an ER and Specialty hospital
• Credentialed technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, conflict-resolution skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team
