What You Can Expect To Do

As the Inventory Coordinator, you will be essential to keeping hospital operations running smoothly by overseeing the acquisition, organization, and distribution of medical and hospital supplies. In this role, you’ll manage daily inventory levels, restock critical items, and partner with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing and timely delivery. You’ll also collaborate with the Hospital Administrator to support pricing strategies and purchasing decisions that maximize efficiency and control costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels for medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
  • Place, receive, and reconcile vendor orders to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Track expiration dates, rotate stock (FIFO), and keep storage areas organized and accessible.
  • Maintain accurate records, conduct audits, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to forecast needs and evaluate new products.
  • Support budget planning, vendor reviews, and provide staff training as needed.

 

What You Have

You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in maintaining efficient hospital operations. You possess strong analytical skills to evaluate vendor pricing and make cost-effective purchasing decisions, while also being capable of managing multiple priorities, such as restocking inventory, maintaining service contracts, and coordinating equipment repairs. Effective communication and collaboration are essential, especially when working with vendors and the Hospital Administrator. You take ownership of processes, are comfortable with inventory management software, and have a problem-solving mindset that supports both day-to-day tasks and long-term operational goals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in inventory management, in a veterinary or medical setting
  • Able to routinely lift 50 pounds
  • Available Monday through Friday
  • Familiarity with Veterinary products/medications preferred.
