Kennel Attendant
Quartet Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Cary, NC is seeking a highly motivated team member for a Kennel Attendant position. We are a fast-paced specialty practice that focuses primarily on surgeries. We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard at a fast pace, isn't afraid to get dirty, and enjoys working with animals.
This is a fast-paced and physical role. Our kennel attendants are responsible for assisting our patient care technicians in providing the best quality of care for our four-legged patients and maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Walk patients as needed throughout the day
- Maintain a clean working area for patients and employees
- Clean and sanitize kennels, keep the yard clean, and dispose of waste
- Perform general cleaning to include laundry, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and collection and discard of trash
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report to inventory coordinator
- Restock patient wards and treatment areas as needed
Qualifications you bring to the table:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to maintain the physical demands of working 8+ hours on your feet. This position includes standing, bending, squatting, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs unassisted
- Ability to work with all breeds and temperaments of cats and dogs in a safe manner for both you and the pet
- Comfortable working with animal substances including blood, urine, feces, vomit, saliva, etc.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance as well as collectively in a group
We are looking for someone who is friendly, compassionate, self-motivated, hardworking, and team oriented. Must enjoy working with cats and dogs! Previous kennel or assistant experience is highly preferred but not required.
US Pay Range
$17 - $19 USD
