Coral Springs, Florida

Join Our Team at Coral Springs Animal Hospital!

Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented veterinary professional who thrives in specialty medicine and enjoys making a meaningful impact on patients and their families? We are seeking a part-time (weekends) Cardiology Veterinary Technician to join our growing specialty cardiology team!

Coral Springs Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art, AAHA-certified facility in South Florida offering primary care, specialty services, and 24/7 emergency care. We are deeply committed to fostering a supportive, learning-focused environment where veterinary professionals feel empowered to grow, contribute, and make a difference in the lives of pets every day.

Who We Are Looking For

We’re looking for a Cardiology Technician who is compassionate, organized, and a quick thinker—someone who excels in multitasking, problem-solving, and clear communication. Our ideal candidate enjoys client education as much as hands-on patient care and works seamlessly with veterinarians, fellow technicians, and other specialty teams.

As our cardiology service continues to grow, we’re seeking motivated technicians who want to build expertise in specialty medicine and make a real impact.

What You Can Expect To Do

As a technician on the Cardiology team, you’ll work directly with our cardiology clinicians and support staff to ensure patients receive efficient, compassionate, and high-quality care. This is a hands-on role with both technical and client-facing responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing nursing care to stable cardiology patients in accordance with hospital standards of care and core values

  • Triaging patients and obtaining thorough medical histories

  • Reporting patient signalment, problem lists, and care plans during nursing rounds

  • Assisting clinicians with cardiology diagnostic procedures

  • Performing phlebotomy and handling samples for diagnostics

  • Administering medications via appropriate routes and durations

  • Calculating basic medical math and medication dosages

  • Monitoring patients’ therapeutic responses and identifying changes in condition

  • Providing patient treatments and ongoing inpatient care

  • Communicating discharge instructions clearly and compassionately to clients

  • Educating clients with a basic understanding of cardiology-related medications, diagnostics, and procedures

  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure continuity of care

What You Have

Medical & Technical Skills

Core Abilities

  • Accurate medication calculations and administration (IV, IM, SQ, oral)

  • Safe handling and restraint of dogs and cats, including fractious patients

  • Excellent communication skills with clients, team members, and veterinarians

  • Calm, organized, and proactive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Dependable with excellent follow-through and attention to detail

  • Team-oriented and willing to assist across departments when needed

Position Requirements

  • Documented veterinary nursing/technician experience (specialty or cardiology experience a plus)
