Veterinary Technician Supervisor - Specialty Medicine

Friendship Hospital for Animals, a premier AAHA-accredited hospital in Washington, D.C., is seeking a credentialed veterinary technician supervisor to lead our dynamic specialty medicine teams. About the role: 

The incumbent is responsible for collaborating with the other team supervisors to oversee daily operations within our specialty departments. Some of the responsibilities include the following:

• Supervise staff scheduling and work flow to ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained at all times
• Serve as a liaison between the medical team and hospital leadership
• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance reviews
• Assist with employee relations, education, and mentorship when appropriate
• Work closely with fellow supervisors and the Specialty Operations Manager to monitor performance indicators, improve interdepartmental relations, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and maintain clinical excellence.
• Fit into and help uphold the standard and culture of medical excellence that Friendship is known for.

This role is split between clinical (40-50%) and administrative (50-60%)

Schedule: This is a full time position. Either four 10 hour shifts or five 8 hour shifts per week.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) or eligibility to obtain licensure in any state required.
• At least one year in a related leadership role is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in specialty veterinary medicine is required.
• Specialty training or VTS highly preferred
