In 2020, a group of five amazing Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans that in total serve more than 20 million members recognized that the way medications get to patients needs significant reform—rapidly rising costs and massive system complexities are detrimental to patients and the entire industry. Head of Pharma Growth Role
We are looking for an experienced commercial leader to join our Evio Access team who will be responsible for driving revenue for this emerging business segment. Evio Access is a suite of services designed for pharmaceutical manufacturers intended to support them in developing go-to-market and commercial access strategies. This role will report directly to the CEO and engage with key stakeholders including the board, payer clients and pharma customers.
An ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain and pharma market access strategies, as well as a proven track record of structuring and closing deals, particularly pharma-payer deals. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role in a high-growth business segment requiring strategic vision, industry credibility, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
Job Specifics:
In partnership with the Head of Pharma Solutions, you will:
- Develop and execute a commercial growth strategy for Evio Access product portfolio, including pipeline development, prospect prioritization, and opportunity development
- Manage deal cycle from origination to closure, incorporating input from various cross-functional teams, including legal and operations
- Lead design of creative deal structures with pharma for medications that Evio payer customers are seeking access to, including value-based agreements and direct purchase models
- Partner closely with Head of Pharma Solutions to refine Evio Access offerings based on market feedback, identifying solution gaps and informing product roadmap
- Serve as a key external representative for Evio Access at industry meetings, conferences, and with pharma and payer customers
- Provide mentorship and accountability to internal commercial teammates, ensuring execution discipline and deal progression
- Willing to travel 25% of the time based on meeting requirements and business needs

The skills and experience you bring to this role include:
- 10+ years of commercial experience with 5+ in related pharma commercial role
- Industry expertise in the full medication supply chain, spanning pharmacy and medical benefits, specialty pharmacy and distributor dynamics
- Proven experience structuring and closing innovative pharma-payer contracts, with deep understanding of rebates, formulary access, trade relations, and supply chain dynamics
- Strategic and creative problem-solving, with a commercial acumen showing ability to drive sales of new solutions, not just consult or advise on strategies for already scaled offerings
- Strong communication and executive influence skills, able to engage with board members, pharma executives, and payer leadership
- Ability to operate in a hands-on environment—excited by building vs. inheriting scaled processes
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work across cross-functional teams in a high-paced environment
Salary Considerations:
Anticipated annual base pay range: $175,000-$205,000 plus 80-100% variable compensation target based on performance.

Compensation includes base pay (range shown) and could include other variable compensation opportunities depending on job seniority, location, and date of hire.

There is no minimum or maximum amount of vacation allowed per year, and there is no payment in consideration for unused vacation. Vacation is to be used at your discretion, with approval of leadership.
