Head of Payor Growth

Denver, CO (Remote)

Evio Overview

Evio is a highly unique pharmacy solutions company that was founded by and works closely with health plans to implement transformative (to cost, quality, access and experience) initiatives primarily focused on specialty and other high-cost medication solutions.

In 2020, a group of five amazing Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans that in total serve more than 20 million members recognized that the way medications get to patients needs significant reform—rapidly rising costs and massive system complexities are detrimental to patients and the entire industry. In 2025, Wellmark joined as Evio's first non-founding investor and sixth owner health plan. Each company made, and continues to make, significant investments to establish Evio as an independent entity to lead this transformation.

With six prominent founding investor health plans and access to more than 25 million members, Evio has advanced analytics and contracting capabilities at scale, and a suite of digital tools, to power our high-cost medication solutions. Our solutions act as a self-reinforcing “flywheel” where each element strengthens and feeds into the next, and support an “Only Evio can do that,” mindset and prioritization.

Evio is also a company that has invested heavily in and been highly intentional about people, team and culture. We believe we have created a very special place to work and encourage candidates to observe and ask us about our culture and decide for themselves.

Evio's Values

  • Empathy – The people our business serves always come first. We care for our teammates and put ourselves in the shoes of our health plan customers and the patients and clinicians our solutions benefit.
  • Diversity – We are committed to fostering a culture where everyone belongs and is valued for their background, experience and insights – one that encourages diversity of ideas, and is a nurturing, trusting, and accepting place for all.
  • Adventure – We are flexible, thrive in ambiguity, fail fast, and pivot quickly to get to a better answer. We celebrate wins and pivots with equal intensity.
  • Relentless – Guided by evidence and data, we are creative, curious, and unwavering in our pursuit of challenging the status quo and each other.
  • Transparency – Just as we seek to bring transparency to the pharmacy supply chain, authenticity and integrity are core to the way we communicate.
  • Excellence – We strive to raise the bar in all we do by hiring and developing exceptional talent and holding ourselves and our thinking to the highest standard.

Head of Payor Growth

We are looking for an experienced payor growth leader to join us and be responsible for driving revenue for our digital health product portfolio which currently includes Evio Insights, Evio Engage and Evio Connect. Our suite of digital products and services are designed to ensure every patient can access the right medication for their unique situation, from the beginning, in a simple and affordable way. This role will report to the Head of Digital Health and engage with key stakeholders including the CEO and the board.

An ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the payor market, as well as a proven track record of structuring and closing deals, particularly advanced analytics solutions sold to payors. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role in a high-growth business segment requiring strategic vision, industry credibility, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.

At Evio, your day-to-day priorities will shift in line with the overall company strategy. However, the responsibilities below will likely persist regardless:

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for digital health product portfolio, including pipeline development, prospect prioritization, and opportunity development
  • Manage deal cycle from origination to closure, incorporating input from various cross-functional teams, including legal and operations
  • Lead design of creative deal structures with payors to deploy our digital health products that fit the needs of their respective local market dynamics
  • Act as a voice of the customer within Evio, capturing feedback and collaborating with product, clinical, and engineering teams to shape the product roadmap
  • Serve as a key external representative for our digital health product portfolio at industry meetings, conferences, and with payor customers
  • Provide mentorship and accountability to internal digital health teammates, ensuring execution discipline and deal progression
  • Willing to travel 25% of the time based on meeting requirements and business

About you:

  • 10+ years of payor growth experience and deep empathy for unique challenges that payor face
  • 5+ years of pharmacy experience
  • Exceptional energy for challenging the status quo and strong value alignment with Evio’s vision (Ensure every patient receives the right medication for their unique situation, from the beginning, in a simple and affordable way)
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ), with the ability to navigate complex organization and build/maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts
  • Extremely comfortable with ambiguity and finding strategic, resourceful ways to solve problems despite hurdles
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and clinical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing customer needs and business objectives
  • Bias for action – you are oriented towards delivering outcomes for customers and our business
  • Payor pharmacy & medical benefit drug management expertise with a strong grasp of economics
  • Strategic and creative problem-solving, with growth acumen showing ability to drive sales of new solutions, not just consult or advise on strategies for already scaled offerings
  • Strong communication and executive influence skills, able to engage with board members and payor executives
  • Ability to operate in a hands-on environment—excited by building vs. inheriting scaled processes
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work across cross-functional teams in a high-paced environment
  • Prior start-up experience is a plus
