Intellectual Property Lawyer
We are an innovative company with a diverse and growing intellectual property (IP) portfolio. To strengthen our legal capabilities, our leadership is building a dedicated Legal & IP Team to manage contracts, protect our IP rights, and support strategic growth. We’re seeking a Contracts & Intellectual Property Counsel with 2–3 years of experience in commercial contracts and intellectual property law. This role is based in Manila and is ideal for someone who has already managed IP portfolios and contracts in a corporate or firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Intellectual Property (Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, Trade Secrets)

Support the drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in collaboration with inventors, creators, and technical teams.

Conduct prior art and trademark clearance searches, draft responses to office actions, and maintain an assigned docket of IP matters.

Maintain and organize the company’s IP portfolio, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations and deadlines.

Assist in enforcement matters, including infringement analysis, validity assessments, and preparation of supporting documents.

Work with outside counsel and internal stakeholders during hearings, discovery, and dispute resolution phases.
Contracts & Commercial Transactions

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor, licensing, partnership, SaaS, and employment contracts.

Provide practical advice to internal teams to ensure contracts balance legal compliance with business objectives.

Support procurement and business development teams in structuring and closing deals.

Maintain and update contract templates, playbooks, and processes for efficient contract management.
Collaboration & Strategy

Partner with R&D, engineering, and business teams to identify and protect innovations, branding, and creative works.

Translate legal and technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for business stakeholders.

Stay current on Philippine IP and contract law, as well as international legal frameworks relevant to the company’s operations.

Contribute to broader legal strategy, including competitive landscape analysis and risk assessments.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials

Law degree or equivalent legal training.

Admission to the Philippine Bar is strongly preferred, but other legal or IP qualifications will also be considered.

Experience with international IP frameworks (e.g., Patent Cooperation Treaty, Madrid Protocol) is an asset.
Experience

2–3 years of practical experience in intellectual property law (patent/trademark prosecution and enforcement) and commercial contracts.

Demonstrated success in drafting and negotiating contracts, managing IP portfolios, and supporting enforcement actions.

Experience working with external counsel or multinational companies is a plus.
