As we expand globally, we’re building a lean, fast legal team to support contracts across our SaaS, tech, and healthcare verticals.

 

About the role:

We are seeking a pragmatic and business-minded legal professional to support our dynamic Vancouver-based sales team. The successful legal professional is someone who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment and is passionate about enabling business growth through strong, strategic legal partnership. You will be the key legal point of contact for our sales and business development teams, providing critical support from the client meeting stage through to contract execution.

 

What You'll Do

  • Transactional Support: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a high volume of a variety of commercial agreements, including master service agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), NDAs, SaaS Contracts, partnership agreements, and licensing deals.
  • Business Development Partnership: Act as a strategic legal advisor to the sales and business development teams, attending client meetings and providing real-time guidance to help close deals effectively and mitigate risk.
  • Client-Facing Collaboration: Serve as a direct liaison with clients and their legal representatives during negotiations, building trust and ensuring our business interests are protected.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement streamlined contracting processes, templates, and playbooks to increase the efficiency and velocity of the sales cycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify and advise on potential legal, commercial, and operational risks within proposed transactions and provide practical, solutions-oriented alternatives.

 

 

What You'll Bring

  • A graduate of Law (J.D.) or, a Lawyer with active Bar membership
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a transactional specialist or pre-contracting manager, or commercial counsel, preferably within a tech-based organization, healthcare services, or fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Extensive exposure in contract drafting, negotiating, and executing a wide array of commercial contracts, particularly technology-related contracts.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships and explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Possess a client-service and business-focused mindset. An enabler, not a barrier to business.
  • High degree of professionalism and comfort in a client-facing role.
  • Ability to work autonomously but also an effective collaborator, able to manage multiple priorities, and thrive under the pressure of sales-driven deadlines.
