🎯 Role Overview
The Navigator, Development & Asset Lifecycle, Global serves as a trusted advisor and discovery catalyst embedded within Vantage’s Development & Asset Lifecycle function. This role acts as the critical bridge between business operations and AI possibilities, translating operational friction points into validated opportunities for AI-driven transformation. Rather than managing programs or building solutions, this Navigator discovers, validates, and prepares high-impact AI opportunities for rapid prototyping by the Accelerators team. Operating as an embedded AI business partner, this role focuses on AI transformation across the full data center asset lifecycle, bridging the critical handoff points between Market Development, Engineering & Construction, and Operations & Facilities. This Navigator operates at the seams between organizational functions, identifying opportunities where AI can ensure continuity of information, optimize lifecycle decisions, and prevent the knowledge gaps that typically occur as assets transition from development concept through construction delivery to operational steady-state. This position represents the front line of Vantage’s AI transformation within Development & Asset Lifecycle, where strategic vision meets operational reality. Success requires equal parts business acumen, technical fluency, and the interpersonal skills to build trust across diverse stakeholders who may be skeptical, curious, or enthusiastic about AI’s potential.
🧩 What you will do
In this role, you will:
- Conduct regular listening tours across Market Development, Engineering & Construction, and Operations & Facilities to understand lifecycle transition challenges and information continuity gaps.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops that bring together stakeholders from different lifecycle phases to envision how AI could create a continuous digital thread from development concept through operational performance.
- Document opportunity assessments capturing lifecycle impact, cross-system data dependencies, organizational boundary considerations, and resource implications unique to multi-function workflows.
- Collaborate with all functional areas to ensure identified opportunities address the real handoff challenges rather than optimizing within existing silos.
- Partner with lifecycle stakeholders to develop success criteria that span functional boundaries, measuring end-to-end lifecycle outcomes rather than single-function improvements.
- Serve as a cross-functional connector, identifying patterns where insights from one lifecycle phase (e.g., construction learnings) can inform another (e.g., operational procedures or future development standards).
- Contribute to methodology improvement with insights from the unique challenges of cross-functional discovery where stakeholders have different priorities, timelines, and definitions of success.
- Translate AI concepts into lifecycle management language that resonates across development, construction, and operations audiences, building shared vocabulary for cross-functional AI opportunities.
- Support change management across organizational boundaries, helping teams understand how lifecycle AI tools benefit the entire value chain rather than any single function.
- Track discovery pipeline health for lifecycle opportunities and report on cross-functional conversion metrics.
- Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
🧠 What you will bring
The top candidate will have the following skills:
- Minimum 5-7 years overall work experience, with exposure to multiple phases of the data center or infrastructure asset lifecycle including development, construction, and/or operations.
- Understanding of how data center assets progress from market identification through design, construction, commissioning, operations, and lifecycle capital reinvestment, with appreciation for the information challenges at each transition point.
- Practical understanding of AI capabilities including digital twins, predictive analytics, cross-system data integration, and lifecycle optimization algorithms as they apply to infrastructure asset management.
- Familiarity with systems used across the asset lifecycle including project management platforms, BIM tools, construction management software, CMMS/EAM systems, and operational monitoring platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries, building credibility with stakeholders who have different functional perspectives, priorities, and success metrics.
- Experience identifying process improvements at organizational handoff points where information loss, miscommunication, or misalignment creates downstream inefficiencies.
- Proven capability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, bringing together stakeholders with different backgrounds to find shared value in AI-powered lifecycle solutions.
- Track record of delivering improvements that required coordination across multiple teams or departments, demonstrating ability to navigate organizational complexity.
- Strong systems thinking ability, understanding how decisions in one lifecycle phase cascade through subsequent phases and impact long-term asset performance.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the challenge of working in spaces between established organizational functions where ownership can be unclear.
- Excellent listening skills and genuine curiosity about how different teams experience the same asset at different lifecycle stages.
- Travel required is expected to be 25-35% for cross-functional relationship building and site visits across development, construction, and operating facilities.
