Your job opportunity:

As a Hardware Manager you will be the main responsible for overseeing and managing the company's hardware-related operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functionality and support across teams. This role includes working closely with external vendors and internal teams , ensuring timely project delivery and managing hardware integrations and updates. 

 

Location: Poblenou, Barcelona. Hybrid work mode.

 

You will: 

 

  • Provide day-to-day support for internal teams and provide assistance across teams on troubleshooting hardware-related issues. 
  • Work with external hardware vendors and engineers (internal team) on integrations between hardware and software.
  • Stay current with the latest firmware release from external hardware vendors. Perform firmware validation tests to ensure compatibility and reliability before deployment. 
  • Oversee the rollout of firmware updates, and coordinate firmware deployment schedules.  
  • Collaborate with engineers and other internal teams to coordinate and manage hardware-related project deliveries, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Gather all the technical documentation from hardware vendors, including technical specifications, installation manual,  troubleshooting guides,  error codes, and certifications. 
  • Actively working with software engineers on hardware-related projects. 
  • Work with external vendors and the fulfillment team on ensuring that hardware supplied meets the company´s reliability and quality standards.

You have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 5-10 years of experience in hardware development or management roles, with a focus on power electronics, high-power DC systems, AC/DC conversion, and related power systems.
  • Experience in the EV Charging industry: Prior experience working in the EV industry, especially on Level 2 or DC chargers, are highly desirable. 
  • Familiarity and experience with OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) for communication between chargers and central management systems. 
  • Knowledge of testing methods for hardware reliability and quality standards. 
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (such as UL, IEC and SAE standards related to EV charging equipment). 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments, including software teams, manufacturing partners, and stakeholders. 
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities for resolving hardware-related issues. 

 

It’s a plus:

In depth knowledge of OCPP, ISO15118, SAE J1772 and SAEJ3400 (NACS), plug-and-charge.
