Middle Software Engineer (Java)

We are seeking a Backend Java Developer to join our team supporting one of Brazil’s leading investment banks. This role involves building and maintaining robust backend solutions using Java Quarkus in a cloud-native environment. You will collaborate closely with business and IT teams in an agile setting, ensuring performance and reliability in mission-critical applications.

What You’ll Do

• Participate in agile software development practices
• Maintain close communication with business areas and other IT teams
• Develop backend solutions using Java Quarkus
• Assist in maintaining the production environment

What You Bring

• Experience in Java development (versions 8–11)
• Strong understanding of AWS services (SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch)
• Proficiency with MySQL databases
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and requests simultaneously
• Experience in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and problem resolution
• Clear communication – able to explain technical ideas to diverse audiences
• Teamwork – strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Critical thinking – logical problem-solving and effective decision-making
• Proactivity – takes initiative without needing detailed instructions

Nice to Have

• English fluency is a plus, but not mandatory
• Familiarity with REST architecture
• Experience with Java Quarkus or Spring Boot
