About the Client

A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python
• Work with Java and/or Golang across backend systems and services
• Build and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS
• Develop solutions using AWS services including Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
• Design and integrate REST APIs and distributed backend services
• Build and support messaging and asynchronous processing solutions
• Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
• Translate business and technical requirements into reliable, scalable solutions
• Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and performance issues
• Work with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Develop clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code
• Implement unit and automated testing practices to maintain code quality
• Collaborate through Git-based development and code review workflows
• Contribute to continuous improvements in engineering practices, development efficiency, and solution quality
• Leverage modern development tools, including AI-powered solutions, to improve coding, testing, debugging, and delivery

What You Bring

• Senior-level backend software development experience
• Strong hands-on development experience with Python
• Strong experience with at least one additional backend language: Java or Golang
• Strong experience working with AWS
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as: Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB
• Strong understanding of backend development and software architecture
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs
• Experience with distributed systems and scalable backend architectures
• Experience with messaging systems and asynchronous processing
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Solid knowledge of unit testing and automated testing practices
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand and translate both business and technical requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable contributing to architectural and technical design decisions
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams
• Strong communication skills
• Proactive and ownership-driven approach to development
• Openness to adopting new technologies and modern engineering practices

Nice to have

• Strong backend engineer with deep Python expertise and practical experience with Java or Golang
• Comfortable building and supporting distributed, cloud-native applications on AWS
• Able to think beyond individual development tasks and contribute to broader architectural decisions
• Strong advocate for clean code, automated testing, scalability, and engineering best practices
• Comfortable troubleshooting complex technical problems across applications, integrations, and infrastructure
