Who we are looking for

We are seeking a motivated Technical Project Manager to join our IT team and help coordinate the delivery of projects to our 5 000 teammates and portfolio of stores across the US and Canada. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in leading our projects throughout the project lifecycle, answering technical questions that arise within the technical project architecture, and playing a pivotal part in ensuring the successful execution of our projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of complex projects that involve the implementation of infrastructure and application components and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in-scope following the AutoCanada Project Governance structure.

What you will do

We're seeking an ambitious individual to work in our IT team managing a number of projects

  • Develop Project Charters and/or Scope Statements
  • Coordinate project activities, tasks, and milestones to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives
  • Identify potential risks, apply risk mitigation strategies, and manage the risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project progress and provide status reporting
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team members fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Develop project budget estimates, forecasts, and track expenditures. Monitor cost variances and develop plans to minimize impacts to budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Communicate with General Managers, line managers, end users, and people across the organization to develop continuous improvement processes with how we use, deliver, and maintain technology solutions

 

What you bring to the table

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology roles with competency in Server/Cloud, Networking, or Service Desk
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. (Agile, Waterfall, PMBOK, MS Project, etc.)
  • Experience with Organizational Change Management methodologies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage the coordination of one to three projects at a time
  • Industry experience in automotive retail or a related field is an asset
