Childcare Subsidy Specialist

Early Learning Academies is seeking a detail-oriented Subsidy Specialist to support our North Carolina schools. This is a hybrid role, with a primary work location at our Burton Park center in Jacksonville, NC, along with remote work flexibility.
What You’ll Do

  • Act as the liaison between subsidy agencies and center directors
  • Manage subsidized care accounts, billing, and claims submission
  • Track attendance and ensure accurate reporting for reimbursement
  • Reconcile payments and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain compliance with North Carolina subsidy regulations
  • Support centers with questions related to subsidy processes

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in billing, accounting support, or financial administration
  • Experience with child care subsidy programs or government funding (preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple sites, deadlines, and priorities
  • Clear communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self starter/ability to work independently
  • BA Degree in a relevant field (preferred) 

Pay Range

$17 - $20 USD

What It Takes to Join Us

  • At least 18 years old with a HS diploma or GED
  • EDU 119 and 12+ hours of ECE coursework (or currently enrolled and working toward it)
  • Experience teaching young children
  • A love for teaching young children and supporting their growth
  • Ability to meet all state and federal childcare licensing requirements
